At Caffe e Via we understand coffee and know that picking the perfect coffee is as much a matter of personal taste as is picking the perfect wine. We want to make this process easier for you so we have developed three distinct categories to best describe our coffees: Complex and Vibrant, Delicate and Bright, and Dark and Distinctive. Complex and Vibrant coffees are those coffees that light up when you take a sip. Their flavors are apparent to the sides of your mouth and the tip of your tongue. They have a nice balanced acidity and many of the natural bean flavors are identifiable. These coffees can often be described as having fruity or nutty characteristics. Delicate and Bright coffees have a bright flavor profile but lighter acidity. Most of the coffees described as delicate and bright are single origin coffees rather than blends of beans from different regions. These coffees are roasted full-city (medium dark) to allow the flavors and characteristics, unique to the origin of the bean, to come through. Dark and Distinctive coffees are full-bodied dark roasted coffees. They are often described using such adjectives as smoky, earthy, smooth, and rich. Most of these coffees are blends of beans from different regions and when combined and roasted create a distinct flavor profile. |
